What better way to start 2017 and banish the January blues than coming along to this great Fire Starter Festival event?
Organised by Pathways to Prosperity and taking place on Tuesday 24th January in the convivial surroundings of Edinburgh’s The Melting Pot.
This inspiring half-day seminar (9.00am to 1.00pm) explores how we can generate prosperity more effectively and sustainably, while retaining, and indeed enhancing, our humanity.
We will explore three complementary themes.
Iain Scott of Can Do Places will explain the importance of place-based entrepreneurship in ensuring truly sustainable local economies. Can Do Places is an initiative working with local groups who are passionate about restoring life to underused places and spaces in their communities.
Next, social entrepreneur Clare Carpenter will talk about the value of co-working spaces in helping to breed a stronger culture of entrepreneurship. This is based on her own experience of founding The Melting Pot, the renowned social innovation hub where our event takes place.
Finally, Alan Meldrum of Percepta will speak from his own experience about why people have to come first before you can gain client satisfaction and brand loyalty. Percepta is the customer experience arm of Ford Motor Company and is based in Glasgow.
PS. If you are wondering what the picture is and its relevance to Places Spaces & Graces, we should explain that this is an amazing lady who makes soap and other products and every week takes them to the market in Dubrovnik. Without the space – the market – she would not be able to sell anything. The fact that the market is in Dubrovnik – the place – means she has access to thousands of visitors. And the graces? Well more will be explained at the event!
